Dramatic start to todays walk and not run, Tuesdays are my day off! But Fey fresh from completing the trial tossed a fucking bone to Mandy. Like thats the only bone ya ever getting HOE! Then she’s back to her cell. High off the win she doesn’t notice she’s once again just a fucking muggle. and has shattered her arm! Once again writhing in paid when she’d rather be writhing in Tamlin’s arms. This time Dr. Lucien doesn’t show up but you know who does? Ya boy Rhys. Ever the opportunist. Rhys locks Fey into a deal for her to stay at his place for a week each month. I swear Tam and him as splitting up the girlfriend like she’s some child in divorce getting two christmases but instead of christmases she’s getting two boyfriends? Wait, it IS like two christmases. DOUBLE THE PACKAGES 🎁 (🎶its my 🍆 in a box! 🎶) As per usual there are stipulations that Fey doesn’t ask about and immediately regrets. But will she regret it? This all seems like a 🚩 but at this point are we even surprised? Arm now fixed, the most obvious new stipulation is the new Half sleeve tattoo on her left forearm and hand that adorn her newly fixed arm. Rhys just straight up Tatted her up. Might as well have written Property of Rhysand across her forehead. This magic tattoo also comes with a palm tattoo of an eye. Half sleeve plus a job stopper? What will her father think? Cats eye on the palm. Which I knew immediately would be his way to see what she sees. But her? Naw she doesn’t grok it.. Silly thing… At least she’s alive. Again, saved by yet another stupid deal. How many times can she do this? IN the first book alone? My god. Alis would be rolling in her grave. Cauldron take the wheel!
First order of business is chores. In classic form lets throw in some more manual labor and have Fey scrub the floors with dirty water. This shit is boring but reveals that Luciens Mom saw what she did for her son. (how cute) She’s shown some gratitude by Luciens mom as she magically gives Fey some clean water so she can accomplish her task without failing. Up next is sorting out spilled lentils from a fireplace. WHO THE FUCK IS COOKING LENTILS OVER AN OPEN FIRE IN THEIR BEDROOM?!? What a job. This side quest is apparently taking place in Rhys room where he inevitably ends up helping her out then threatens the guards to basically take better care of her. Dude has the hots for Fey so bad but also I feel like there are some 🚩 starting to creep up. Fey seems to kinda be into it tho. But still pining over Tam. Girl def has choices to be made. No shortage of options thats for sure.
Next up is the thing that is the most bizarre thing that keeps happening. I think Fey is an alcoholic. No matter what anybody tells this girl she cant stop drinking the wine. And she’s a cheap drunk. No stamina. So the deal is Rhys is now getting this girl naked and having his fae helpers paint her up then dressing her up all scantily clad and then parading her around in front of Tam and getting her fae wine drunk and having her give him lap dances. for a whole week it would seem? Just to fuck with Tam? And this body paint is to make sure nobody else but him touches Fey cause she’s his property? 🚩on the play dude. like all the flags? I hope there is something else at work here cause this feels ugh. dirty. like in not a great way. like ugh. I know he’s gotta be up to something but also. Gross. 🤮 After a week of getting white fae wasted and grinding up on Rhys the second challenge is presented. I’m hoping for some ninja warrior shit. Or at the very least American Gladiators. But nope Lucien is trapped and well Fey needs to use the power of READING to get him out or else he’ll be impaled by spikes (she dies too) This part is embarrassingly bad to read (listen to). And I’m glad its over. Low and behold we actually learn that surprise 😳😮🤯 the eye and tattoo on her arm IS a vehicle for Rhys to help her. You fucking dumbass! and confirmation that Fey is the worst person to ask to read in front of the class. Proof once again that in every realm real or fake the education system is an utter faelure (you see what I did there?). But also Tam did a piss poor job at convincing Fey to let him teach her to read. What foreshadowing! With Luc and Fey both saved by the Tattoo we also discover that Rhys can enter Feys mind and give her turn by turn GPS guidance. He walks her through the hard bit of staring down Mandy and walking back to her cell where she then collapses and sobs for hours? Girl you lived and so what if everybody knows you cant read? They just spent the last week seeing you get wine drunk and grinding up on Rhys night after night wearing two strips of see thru fabric and body paint while you were freezing cold. In short. They saw you nekkid girl. they saw it ALL. Them knowing you cant read is the least of your worries! Caludron help us all!
